Civil War

We are studying the Civil War as part of our Winter Promise AS2 curriculum. The twins love this time period so much, so we have added a number of books to our study. Two of our favorites are Slopes of War and Iron Thunder.  The first book is about the Battle of Gettysburg, and it is for older children as it is quite graphic when describing the war. The second book is by Avi, one of our favorite authors, and tells the story of young Tom who begins to work on the Monitor. I highly recommend both books if you are studying the Civil War, or if your children are looking for something good to read.
